The World's First & Leading Provider of Blended CPR, AED, First Aid Training & Certification

CSX Transportation Selects Emergency University's CPR, AED, and First Aid Blended Training & AED Program Management

AED Pad Placement CSX Transportation (CSXT), the largest railroad in the eastern United States, has exclusively selected Emergency University's (EU) blended CPR, AED and First Aid training program to train and certify more than 34,000 employees nationwide.

CSXT relies on Emergency University's extensive medical expertise and experience to coordinate emergency medical response programs company-wide. CSXT employees complete Emergency University's on-line CPR, AED, and First Aid training courses at their convenience. Emergency University's nationwide network of instructors conducts hands-on skills practice and verification class at CSXT worksites. CSXT is able to automatically track, schedule, report, and document all training utilizing MAESTRO™, Emergency University's web based learning management system.

"Emergency University's blended training program provides CSXT with significant cost savings in terms of reducing classroom time and scheduling flexibility and convenience. In addition, trained personnel have enjoyed Emergency University's training program so much that they have recommended the program to their colleagues," says Bart Edgar, Health & Wellness Program Manager of CSXT.

Emergency University's customized website for CSXT automates training enrollment into the training programs. This automated enrollment process allows CSXT to offer CPR, AED, and First Aid training company-wide without the associated administrative costs of organizing, scheduling and tracking training classes.

Bart Edgar, Health & Wellness Program Manager of CSXT, states, "At CSX Transportation we believe that ‘Safety is a Way of Life’ and ‘People Make the Difference.’ In conjunction with these core values, CSXT's Health and Wellness Department sought an effective medical emergency training program for each of its 34,000 employees. After comparing other blended learning programs, our Medical Department agreed that Emergency University's interactive learning modules provided the best choice. Emergency University's software developers created a customized website to simplify user access and enrollment and automate the training records of employees nationwide. Trained employees said they are very pleased with the ease of use and efficiency of EUs training programs and website developed for CSX."

EU's training and service programs are supported by MAESTRO ™, EU's proprietary multi-featured, customizable learning management system that automatically tracks training and test results, provides real-time compliance reports, and sends out email notifications of upcoming recertification and/or refresher training. "Our goal at CSXT," says Bart Edgar, "is to afford all employees with the opportunity to become CPR, AED, and First Aid trained while instilling competence and confidence in responding to medical emergencies. One of the biggest challenges that we face at CSXT is staying on top of who has trained because we deal primarily with a diffuse, transient population. Emergency University's MAESTRO ™ enables us to know exactly who has been trained at each facility with a click of the mouse and requires little administrative management."
