Corporate

How will my company benefit from your online medical training courses?
 • Saves time and money
 • Convenient
 • Educationally superior methodology
 • 2 year nationally accredited certification

Employers achieve significant savings with on-line and blended training (combined on-line/hands-on classroom instruction). The major cost associated with training is typically employee wages, not the actual training program cost. Using blended training decreases the classroom hours required to complete training and simplifies the logistics. Traditional CPR and AED classes require the employer to pay employee wages for 4 to 6 hours of training. Using Emergency University's Blended On-line/Hands-on Training Program, employees spend 1 hour online completing our CPR and AED training modules and 1 hour with a qualified instructor completing a hands-on skills verification. This decreases classroom training by more than 67%, and overall training time by 50%. This decreases costs by at least 50%.

Furthermore, blended training simplifies the logistics of training. The online training may be completed anytime from anywhere. If skills verification is required or desired, employers will find more flexibility in scheduling a 1 hour class, rather than a 4-6 hour class. Many times, the 1 hour on-site training sessions can be completed before or after a shift. And for those remote locations, online training sessions can be completed without the additional expense of travel time.

Moreover, all of our online training courses include access to MAESTRO, our Proprietary Learning Management System (LMS) that tracks employees' training and testing results, manages the enrollment and certification process, sends out email notifications of upcoming refresher and/or re-certification training sessions and provides reports documenting compliance with regulatory standards. This provides employers with instantaneous access to their most up-to-date training records online. MAESTRO LMS is located at www.emergencyuniversity.com/promgr/ or go to www.emergencyuniversity.com and click on ADMIN LOGIN in the upper right hand corner.

Blended Training

What is Blended Training?

Blended training combines multi-media on-line learning with traditional instructor-led classroom instruction. Responding to customer demand for an effective, convenient, and engaging training alternative to traditional classroom training, blended training is now the premier methodology for providing emergency care training and certification.

What does research say about blended training?

Research conducted by the American Heart Association and the American Red Cross concluded that multi-media and blended (multi-media and hands-on) CPR and AED training is more effective than traditional classroom training. Please click www.emergencyuniversity.com/blog.html to view a list of research studies confirming the superiority of multi-media and blended CPR/AED training.

In a 15-city evaluation of blended CPR training presented at the American Public Health Association in November 2003, trainees who completed blended training programs outperformed their traditional classroom counterparts in all assessment categories. (p<0.009) Trainees further stated that they preferred the blended training format. CPR Education that Works: "A Web-based Blended Learning Approach", Anthony C. Blended Training requires only 1 hour of classroom instruction instead of 4 hours. You will maintain your current revenue/student, but complete instruction within a shorter period of time. This also permits you to instruct more students per day (80 v. 20 students/day). The on-line training tool provides you the additional resources to bid on larger clients (see employer benefits above), more efficiently handle shift schedules, as well as off-site and remote locations.

As an instructor, you can also utilize Emergency University to stay close to your customers. You will be able to manage your training center and your students through your personal administrative site. Your administrative site includes a database that contemporaneously tracks student training and testing, and generates completion reports. In addition, you can schedule classes, and register your students for hands-on classes on-line.

Expand your business by receiving website referrals from our partners who include AED manufacturers, corporations, and physician offices. Last year we referred over 1000 hands on skills classes to our qualified instructors.

Feedback from instructors who currently use "blended training" is that approximately 10 students can achieve a satisfactory level of performance per hour using one instructor.

Are there student to instructor ratio requirements?

We recommend the same ratio in the 1 hour skills verification class that you currently use for your traditional classroom instruction.

Are there instructor materials available for the hands-on portion of the Blended Online/Hands-on Training Program?

Yes. Please contact Emergency University via email at info@emergencyuniversity.com or toll free at 866-AED-HELP or 650-365-3310 between 9am and 5pm Pacific Time Monday thru Friday, and we will email you the materials for the hands-on skills verification session. These materials can be downloaded from the Instructors Only section of our website.
