POLICY SUMMARY

EUAlert!™ is a Smartphone application that immediately alerts nearby trained lay responders to the scene of a medical emergency and notifies them of the location of the nearest emergency equipment. EUAlert!™ also delivers real-time instructions to employees and response teams for non-medical emergencies such as fires, floods, or earthquakes.

Personal Data

EUAlert!™ collects a User's email address, first name, last name and mobile phone number in order to contact the User to provide the services offered by the Application.

To delete your mobile account, go into the EUAlert! app, press the More button, choose the Settings icon, and press Delete Account. To request account deletion from Emergency University, please send an email to privacy@emergencyuniversity.com.

Permissions Requested by EUAlert!™ Regarding the Use of Personal Data

Normal Permissions that are requested by this app and granted by the User when installing the Application include:.

Used to access Emergency University's internal database via web services

Used to scan tags describing Emergency University's Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in order to facilitate their maintenance

Privacy Permissions that are requested by this application and presented to the User for his or her acceptance when the Application is installed include:.

CALL_PHONE
EUAlert!™ requires this permission to contact EUAlert!™ Users and to call 911 EUAlert!™ can only call the phone numbers that have been designated by an EU client's organizational coordinator and registered by an EU client's volunteer emergency responder to communicate with her or him during an emergency.

READ_PHONE_STATE
EUAlert!™ requires this permission for registration and functionality of the Application. It is used to allow EUAlert!™ to pre-populate the phone number to facilitate registration. EUAlert!™ must allow phone calls, so this permission is also used to ensure that the Application works properly during and after a phone call. Phone numbers are otherwise not accessible from the application to any party. from the Application.

CAMERA
EUAlert!™ requires this permission so that it may take a picture of a QRCode that is attached to an Emergency University's Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to facilitate the maintenance of AEDs managed by and registered to Emergency University. The camera is only used as a scanner and must be activated by the User. The camera must scan the correct QRCode in order to take the picture. The Application immediately sends the picture into the AED maintenance screen. The EUAlert!™ camera cannot initiate the taking of photographs or videos.

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION
EUAlert!™ requires these permissions so that it may determine the exact location of an emergency, the exact location of a person to be notified in the case of an emergency, and the exact location of the nearest AEDs to use during a Sudden Cardiac Arrest. EUAlert!™ only uses these permissions to store the location of the User who has enabled location services for the purposes of reporting an emergency, reporting a change in the status of an emergency, or being notified in the case of a nearby emergency. The User initiates the location services by registering EUAlert!™ with a private company code.

The individual using this Application, which must coincide with or be authorized by the Data Subject, to whom the Personal Data refers.
