Emergency University's Systems Approach to Effective Emergency Care Focuses on Sustainability; WorkSafe Program Saves Lives with 100% Employee Response to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) Victims and other Medical Emergencies

January 21, 2016 - Redwood City, Calif. - /PRNewswire-iReach/ - Emergency University, has been awarded a global, multi-year contract to provide LinkedIn® Corporation (NYSE: LNKD) with customized emergency medical and disaster response system design and training, and for employee health and safety compliance. With 8,900 employees, LinkedIn is the world's largest professional network on the Internet. Emergency University’s services are currently being implemented across multiple facilities at LinkedIn locations in the US, Canada, Europe, South America, Asia and Australia. A roll out to all LinkedIn sites in 17 countries will continue throughout the year.

"LinkedIn selected Emergency University because we provide a single source for emergency response system design and training. Our standardized program ensures consistency for all employees worldwide. Plus, uniform training processes increase efficiency and effectiveness, streamline program management and reduce costs," said Emergency University Medical Director Dr. Odelia Braun.

The LinkedIn contract for Emergency University's WorkSafe™ Program includes:

  • Emergency response/evacuation system planning and design
  • Training for emergency response and evacuation teams
  • AED Program management
  • Medical/first aid program management, equipment and supplies
  • Health and safety regulatory compliance
  • Medical oversight focused on maximizing clinical outcomes

"We credit our success to preparing regular people, not just professional healthcare or emergency service providers, to feel confident and competent when responding to critical emergencies. By focusing on the unique needs of lay responders, and building a structured system that enables their success, our customers respond to SCA victims 100 percent of the time instead of the two to three percent response rate seen in the general population. Our commitment is to save lives by creating targeted practical solutions," Braun added.

About Emergency University

Emergency University assists corporations and government agencies in the design and implementation of life-saving internal emergency response systems, including comprehensive preparedness training, SCA response programs and early notification technologies. In 1989, Emergency University staff tripled SCA survival in San Francisco when they launched the first major urban AED program in the US designed specifically for non‐healthcare professionals. In addition to LinkedIn, Emergency University provides emergency response system implementation and training to major corporations including Cisco, Twitter, Levi-Strauss, CSX Transportation, Zynga, Procter & Gamble, and Norfolk Southern. Emergency University also provides CPR/AED training to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as part of its Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) Program -- the largest in the nation.
