Emergency University’s multi-media, online training programs combine clinical animations, interactive learning tools, video, colorful graphics, audio and text to maximize the learning potential of all adult learners. The multi-media program includes text for the “reader,” audio for the “listener”, photos, graphics and videos for the visual learner and animations for adults who learn best by understanding how things work. Our programs allow each trainee to learn at their own pace and to review the material as often as desired for an entire year.
Trainees work through realistic clinical scenarios, and instructive feedback is provided throughout training and testing. These educational methodologies result in longer retention of highly perishable life-saving skills. Interactivity transforms the passive learning of classroom lectures into an active process further contributing to greater knowledge acquisition and retention.
Emergency University is the Only training provider that offers AED training customized to the make and model of your AED. The trainee is provided with a Virtual AED that looks, sounds, operates and responds interactively just like the AED devices at your organization leading to greater confidence and willingness to respond.
Emergency University was the first organization to develop and offer nationally accredited online emergency preparedness training in 1999. Trainees complete an evaluation at the completion of every program. Over 3 million satisfied trainees have rated EU’s online training program an average of 4.96/5!
Blended training combines the best of both worlds: 1) the flexibility, convenience and standardization of interactive online learning with 2) instructor led classroom skills practice and certification. Providing the lecture portion online through carefully scripted multi-media frames provides consistency and standardization of content throughout your facilities.
Department of Education research determined that blended training was significantly more effective for learning than traditional classroom training. In addition, trainees in the studies stated they preferred blended training over traditional classroom lectures.
This makes blended training the logical choice of intelligent driven corporations. Emergency University facilitates the entire process with easy registration and access to online training, and comprehensive scheduling services. Organizational leaders receive access to Maestro™ with on-demand access to all training records and reports. Students receive numbered e-certification cards directly to their cell phones for sustainable storage and ease of validation.
Traditional instructor-led classroom training is available globally. Training is based on country-specific requirements, using Emergency University’s streamlined scheduling process. EU incorporates behavioral science methodologies into each class to address and overcome predictable cultural and emotional barriers. Even EU’s traditional classes have been demonstrated to create more “willing” responders.
The facility’s training coordinator simply contacts Emergency University via email or toll free to request an Instructor-Led Training Class at their facility. Emergency University will then email a Training Reservation Form link to the training coordinator to complete and indicate their site’s availability for training. Emergency University will schedule one of its experienced certified instructors to travel to the specific facility. Organizational leaders and facility training coordinators receive access to Maestro™ for on-demand access to training and certification records and reports.
Video Skills is a traditional skills verification class taught via live video conferencing software. A qualified instructor conducts a skills verification class utilizing commonly used video conferencing programs such as Skype or Facetime. The trainee demonstrates their knowledge and skills just as they would in a traditional classroom. EU’s Instructor provides constructive feedback with the goal of achieving trainee confidence and competence. Trainees appreciate the convenience and flexibility offered with Video Skills, and with EU’s Video Skills Instructor Specialists, many trainees say it was the best class they’ve ever had!
Video Skills can be used to train less populous sites, remote sites, or employees who miss their facility’s scheduled class due to travel, illness or job responsibilities. Video Skills are also perfect for facilities with urgent needs for skills verification and certification. For example, a facility has experienced a significant employee turnover and now has insufficient numbers of trained responders available. Video Skills allows Emergency University to train newly designated emergency responders in time for the next shift!
